Who to Love.
Valentine’s Day—some people love it, some hate it, and to others it's just another day. I’ve only been in love once in my life, and since then, many Valentine’s Days have come and gone. But I’ve always found something so beautiful about a day that’s entirely dedicated to celebrating love. It’s not just about romantic relationships—there’s so much more to it.
I find genuine joy in watching men look through flowers, looking for the perfect bouquet. I love seeing the kids in the aisles, picking out cards and candy to share with their class. And of course, I can’t help but to love everyone dressed in pink and red, and the extra festive ones with heart-themed shirts.
What I’ve come to realize about Valentine’s Day is that it’s not just about romantic love. It’s a reminder that so many people outside of our partners also deserve to feel loved and appreciated, and sometimes that person is ourselves. What's a better excuse to treat yourself than Valentine’s Day for all my single woman? (Well, and your birthday, of course!)
I hope on a day like today you feel the love all around you. Whether it be watching someone else get the pretty roses, or treating yourself at the nail salon followed by a cocktail and good movie to end the night… and who knows maybe, just maybe, next year Valentine's Day will be a little more special…
