Boy-Crazy or Just Driven Crazy?
Every now and then, my best girlfriend and I will get on FaceTime and dive into all thing's womanhood with a cocktail. life, work, kids, finances, and of course, men... Mostly men.
We try to avoid being "boy-crazy," but let’s be real: We can't help it. The problem is, are we really boy-crazy, or is it the boys who are driving us crazy?
The Search for the One: Back into the Dating Pool
My friend just got out of a serious three-year relationship. Me? I’ve been out of the dating scene for the past three years (and that’s a post for another time). But as we get older, the whole "dating" thing becomes a lot more complicated.
We’ve both been through our own ups and downs, and as we chat, we can’t help but laugh and wonder: Why is finding love so hard?
A few months ago, I got asked out by a man I met on Hinge.
I can’t say the messages we exchanged were thrilling. Honestly, they were surface-level and not particularly exciting. But for some reason, he caught my attention.
Despite myself, I agreed to meet him.
I won’t dive into all the details of our short-term relationship, but like most 'situationships,' it was great—until it wasn’t. It reminded me why I had been so closed off to men in the first place. The truth? there’s only one decent man in a room full of a million others. And finding him in that room? Not so easy.
Am I right?
Modern Love: The idea for this blog
While chatting with my friend during one of our facetime happy hours, I jokingly said, 'I should start a blog about the nightmare that is online dating and dating in general.'
Well, here we are..."
And trust me, there are plenty. From men who think a corny pickup line will catch your attention or men that want you to be a girlfriend... without the commitment. (news flash: it doesn’t work like that)
I’m sharing the good, bad, and 'boy bye' moments that come with trying to meet someone new in this day and age
A lot of women are going through the same struggles I am. Feeling hopeless to say the least.
Honestly, if you’ve made it this far, you’re probably right there with me. laughing, eye-rolling, and nodding along to the relatable madness of it all. (or you're just a friend of mine supporting me lol)
Because let’s face it: We’re not boy crazy, the boys are just doing a damn good job of driving us crazy.
